For the past year and a half, GCSU has been working with the Georgia Department of Transportation, as well as the city of Milledgeville, to install a new red light at the intersection of West Campus Drive and the 441 bypass.

After originally being approved, many budget cuts and discussions about the light have led to the conclusion it is unnecessary.

According to a Public Safety report, on August 26 at approximately 10:03 p.m. a female reported that she was running on Greene Street by the Exchange Bank, wearing her head phones, when a tall, skinny, black male struck her in the back of the head with a brown pole.

Caylee Pritchard stepped into English 1101 appearing like the typical student on their first day of freshman year, but unlike her classmates she is a 15-year-old high school junior and the youngest student at GCSU.

Pritchard, who has yet to obtain her driver's license, is part of the Early College Program which allows high school students from Putnam and Baldwin Counties, and the Oconee region to begin college classes early at GCSU.

On Friday August 20 in the early hours of the morning Tim Long president of the Student Government Association (SGA) of Jacksonville State University, was arrested for urinating in the side of the Brothers Bar parking lot. At the time of his arrest, Long was charged with exposure and lewd conduct.
