first-year students who are na've to college finals."
Many others were completely against the change regardless
of the reasoning. Justinian Henderson, a freshman and accounting student, said, "It takes away from my studying time. It is not my fault that more than half the school is failing. It is called time management."
Henderson even suggested that CAU implement two reading periods (one for midterm and one for finals) to help better
prepare students for exams in the future.
Although, the reading period is thought to be beneficial, without, one student believes it will only contribute to the academic crisis on campus. "The reading period is beneficial because it allows students the opportunity to study material.
[By] not having a reading period, it will only exacerbate the current problem CAU faces with midterm grades," said Jeremy Reece, a junior and business administration major. Several schedules of tutorials are posted in the student center of CAU to assist students before midterms. An array of subjects are offered for extra help such as mathematics, biology,
history, English, and foreign language.

is in the midst of working zealously to ensure that the students get what they need out of CAU. "I am confident that we are going to improve the systems. We have to build back structure," he said.
