According to the "Get Your Money Right" handbook, when applying for a credit card, it is important to shop around and focus on the annual percentage rates, grace periods and annual fees. Also it is as simple as paying your bill on time said Cox, who shared his personal experience with credit cards. "I learned how to use my credit card correctly by default," said Cox. "When I got my first credit card, all I wanted to do was spend, but what I learned is to only spend what you can pay back."
Alexis Montgomery, a transfer English major said she agrees with Cox about credit cards. She said when she got her first credit card she would buy things that she knew she could not afford and she admits that she is still paying for her mistakes now. "I regret being irresponsible now because I am working to pay off my credit bills instead of spending my paychecks the way I want to," Montgomery said.
The financial seminar touched on many topics like correct ways to budget to learning about investments which assert to help students now and in the future. "Today's seminar has motivated me to want to save more and continues to be conscience of my spending," Montgomery said.
