The wonders of Cairo, Egypt have been brought to a small room in the Atlanta Civic Center. The King Tut exhibit has become the new go to exhibit for a new exciting cultural experience in Atlanta.

Since leaving London in 2007 the traveling show has attracted hundreds of thousands of viewers and is now making its temporary home at the Atlanta Civic Center in Atlanta. Tutankhamun- The Golden Key and the Great Pharaohs features over 100 objects found in the tomb of the great pharaoh in Egypt.

Some of these objects include the actual gold sandals that were found of the feet of the mummy within his tomb, adornments of jewelry, paintings, and golden sculptures that once filled the sacred tombs, and spiritual scriptures. Other notable mummies are featured at the exhibit such as the Khefren, a powerful leader during his time and Hatshepsut, an Egyptian woman ruler of Egypt.

While walking through this exhibit, a true understanding of Egyptian culture and pride is present in every adornment from the pure gold earrings worn by the queens to the golden funeral masks worn by the kings for their travel into the after life.

The beauty and grace of African history, especially Egyptian history, has already been viewed by thousands of Atlanta residents so far. The King Tut exhibit, sponsored by National Geographic's, will be in Atlanta until May 2009. More information can be found at: www.kingtut.org.
