On the Come Up: Kris Styles aka Steezy

Since his showcasing days, Kris still hasn't signed with a label.
"I'm just being patient. I want to do my own stuff first. I don't want to just sign with anybody. There's been people that have been interested but not anyone I want to surround myself around, that's why I'm doing my album on my own right now. I still need to meet someone I'm going to be comfortable with," Kris said.
Kris' immediate goal is to make it mainstream, and once he has made it to start his own record label and be in control of his own roster. Besides music, Kris plays baseball, reads urban books and works out. Kris also acknowledges that there are many people trying to make it in the music industry but he feels like he stands out from others.
"I'm real and once people get to know me they like me, they mess with me. I keep it funky all the time no matter what the situation is," Kris said.
Being bilingual tends to give Kris an upper hand in life and his music. "I be around people and since I have braids and I'm dark people think I'm black. When I'm around people that speak Spanish they don't think that I can understand them and then I pull out my Spanish and they be like "what?" Plus, I have a another country that can back me up, Puerto Rico. And, it's an advantage with females because they think its sexy."
Kris is now working on a group project with a singer named Bella. Their group name, BellaSteez, which is a combination of both of their names, means beautiful style in Spanish.
Pursuing his career means motivation and Kris is motivated by his fans and people close to him. "My daughter and my family inspire me to keep going. People are counting on me to make it and be something. Not only for me I want to do it for them more. Just so I can prove to people that I can do it. I want to hold up their reassurances. I want to leave a legacy behind and be a legend for my daughter and I plan on having more kids in the future when I'm comfortable. I've never really had any doubters," Kris said.
